Can you tell us about yourself and your background?
I’m an Associate of Loan Management and Construction at Pallas Capital, responsible for overseeing land and construction loans.
I originally come from Wellington, New Zealand and moved to Australia in 2016. I’ve been working in banking and finance for six years, specialising in commercial lending, and have gained experience in the UK, New Zealand and here in Australia.
Before finance, I was pursuing a career in football which saw me play at two U20 World Cups, Olympic Qualifiers and for the New Zealand senior men’s team. Unfortunately, numerous injuries and surgeries meant I had to hang up the boots.
How did you come to be part of the Pallas Capital team?
A recruiter contacted me through LinkedIn. She messaged me on a Wednesday to ask if I’d be interested. By the following Tuesday it was all done.
What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?
I’m responsible for managing our land, construction and residual stock loans. As part of this, I conduct partial and full discharges, draw downs and consents, while working with our internal and external stakeholders.
It’s important for the loan management team to liaise quite closely with the credit team to get deals across the line.
Day-to-day, I also work with borrowers, brokers and solicitors to gather further information to help complete all these tasks.
What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?
The colleagues in my team have been very welcoming and are always happy to help show the way.
It’s made my transition into Pallas Capital a seamless one.
What are your personal goals for 2021 outside of Pallas Capital?
To live a healthy and prosperous lifestyle.
