Staff spotlight: Michael Glen, Associate Director – Origination

Can you tell us about yourself and your background?

My lending career began in 2010 when I joined CBA’s business and corporate banking division as an Analyst, working across commercial real estate and diversified industries. Over time, I developed a strong interest in property finance, which led me to join CBA’s specialist property finance team. I spent the majority of my career there, working closely with property developers and investors on their commercial and personal financing requirements.

Outside of work, I’m quite active and enjoy practising martial arts and spending quality time with my wife and daughter. When I get the chance, you will usually find me unwinding on the couch watching sport or a good TV series.

How did you come to be part of the Pallas Capital team?

I watched the non-bank lending sector continue to grow and play an increasingly important role in the market, and when Pallas Capital made the decision to establish an office in Perth, it presented an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

I was particularly drawn to the entrepreneurial nature of Pallas Capital and the chance to leverage my experience and long-standing relationships with brokers, investors and developers while helping establish the brand in the Western Australian market.

What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?

Every day varies, which is one of the things I enjoy most about my role. Sometimes it involves networking with brokers and clients at industry events and professional development days, while at other times, I’m reviewing new opportunities, assessing transactions and working with our internal teams to structure funding solutions.

What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?

A highlight has been helping establish Pallas Capital’s presence in Western Australia and getting some of our first transactions on the board across construction, investment and pre-development finance.

It’s also been rewarding to experience the level of support across the wider team. The depth of expertise within the business and willingness to work together has reinforced Pallas Capital’s ability to deliver a broad range of funding solutions.

What are some of your proudest achievements or milestones during your time at Pallas Capital?

I’m most proud of the way the Western Australian market has responded to Pallas Capital since we established our Perth office. The level of engagement from brokers, investors and developers has exceeded expectations, and it’s been exciting to see the momentum we’ve built in a relatively short period of time. Helping to establish Pallas Capital’s office in Western Australia has also been particularly rewarding.

Looking ahead, what are your professional goals and aspirations within Pallas Capital? How do you see yourself contributing to the company’s future success?

I’m looking forward to supporting my existing and growing network of brokers and clients while continuing to strengthen Pallas Capital’s presence in Western Australia.
