Can you tell us about yourself and your background?
I’m a Financial Controller at Pallas Capital, responsible for overseeing all financial and reporting functions.
Originally from Shanghai, I came to Australia to study my Master’s degree at the University of Sydney in 2003. While studying, I was lucky enough to explore many parts of Australia and decided to live permanently in Sydney after completing my degree. I worked as an accountant for a well-known retail brand for over 10 years, before joining Pallas Capital in October 2017.
What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?
First thing in the morning, I’ll work with the Client Services team to make sure we’ve identified all the funds received from our investors, and then transfer these to the allocated accounts accordingly. From there, I’ll typically check funds availability for the day and liaise with our Loan Management team to ensure smooth loan settlement processes are in place.
Getting the details right for every transaction is a big part of what I do; everything must be recorded accurately to assist with our post-settlement reporting.
What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?
Being able to witness Pallas Capital’s fast-growing reputation within the industry, first hand, is very exciting. It’s been a wonderful journey, and there’s much more to come, I’m sure.
What are your personal goals for 2021 outside of Pallas Capital?
My goals are simple. To be fit and healthy.
