Pallas Capital launches Brisbane office with new appointments

Bianca Wise has been welcomed as Partner – Distribution, Darragh O’Riordan as Head of Origination – Queensland, and Peter Blanc as Senior Credit Manager.

“In a competitive market such as the non-bank lending space, it can be difficult to find senior personnel that align with the skill set and expertise that a leading company such as Pallas Capital requires as it continues to grow. We feel extremely excited to welcome Bianca, Darragh and Peter to the Brisbane office as it expands, bringing with them a wealth of experience to their various roles,” says Mark Spring, Executive Director, Pallas Capital.

As Partner – Distribution, Bianca Wise will be responsible for growing the Pallas Capital investor base of high-net-worth individuals, family offices and financial planners. Bianca brings extensive knowledge of the wealth industry to Pallas Capital, having spent over 27 years working in business development roles on behalf of some of the largest wealth managers in Australia. Most recently, she spent six years as Manager for Business Growth with MLC Wealth, working to grow MLC’s Investment Platforms across the financial planning industry in Queensland.

Darragh O’Riordan, Head of Origination – Queensland, will oversee real estate debt and development transactions across the state. Darragh has spent 20 years working within the banking sector in both Australia and Europe, holding a range of strategic roles with Bank of Queensland, CBA Group, ANZ and the Bank of Ireland. During this time, he has personally transacted over $2.5 billion in property settlements.

Peter Blanc will be instrumental in overseeing the lending process, structuring and approvals in his new role as Senior Credit Manager at Pallas Capital. He brings with him 15 years of experience in senior banking, finance and credit management roles, most recently as a Senior Credit Manager at Balmain Corporation, and has been responsible for all facets of property lending including structuring and analysis of construction, investment, mezzanine and equity financing.

Pallas Capital is one of the fastest growing non-bank lenders in Australia, offering brokers and developers lending solutions that are tailored to their needs. It offers borrowers five core loan types, being acquisition, pre-development, construction, residual stock and vacant land loans, along with the flexibility to negotiate LVRs and the required level of pre-sales for construction loans.

Pallas Capital manages funds for investing in commercial real estate loans secured against property assets with values between $1 – $50 million in major metropolitan areas. Wholesale investors are offered investment opportunities providing fixed or variable rate returns ranging from 7.7% p.a. in the Pallas Short Term Fund to 9% to 10% p.a. both rates inclusive of BBSW (first mortgages), 12.6% for the High Yield Fund inclusive of BBSW (First and Second Mortgages) and up to 18% p.a. for preference equity investments. Pallas Capital’s loans are supported by robust due diligence on each borrower and the security property, a realistic and multi-faceted exit strategy, and active management of all loans by the Pallas Capital team throughout the term.
