Staff spotlight: Portia Ridley, National Sales Manager – Broker & Aggregation

Can you tell us about yourself and your background?

My career has always been anchored in the non‑bank sector, and I’ve been fortunate to work across a range of positions that have shaped my understanding of credit and the broker ecosystem. I began at La Trobe Financial, working across residential and commercial credit, business development and eventually leading the Victorian BDM team. From there, I joined ORDE Financial to launch their product suite to the broker channel which also allowed me to build on my existing relationships with the aggregator network.  The broker and aggregation channel has always been where I feel most energised and it’s driven my career from day one.

How did you come to be part of the Pallas Capital team?

I first met Jason Arnold, Pallas Capital’s Group Executive — Origination, when he was running his brokerage Quattro Finance. When the opportunity arose to build and scale Pallas Capital’s national BDM network and strengthen its third‑party channel, Jason reached out. I had seen the incredible growth trajectory Pallas Capital was on, and I was interested moving into the commercial and private credit space. This role was the perfect opportunity and felt like a natural next step.

What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?

My role is a combination of strategy, relationship‑building and hands‑on support, which means each day varies. In summary, my time is spent discussing transactions with brokers, working with our aggregators on strategic initiatives, travelling interstate to support our BDM team, and presenting our product offering to brokers and referral partners. I also focus on refining internal processes and systems to ensure brokers have a seamless and consistent experience when working with Pallas Capital.

What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?

Without question, the team. Culture and leadership were my top priorities when considering a new role, and Pallas Capital has exceeded every expectation. The depth of experience across the business, the calibre of people and the respect we hold in the market is exceptional. I’ve learnt so much in such a short period of time, and the collaboration across teams makes a real difference. Helping to build and lead our national BDM team, while contributing to the internal frameworks that support our growth and enhance the broker experience, has been incredibly rewarding.

What are some of your proudest achievements or milestones during your time at Pallas Capital?

A standout achievement has been the expansion of our aggregator panel. Our partnership with LMG continues to strengthen, and I’m particularly proud of our recent appointment to the Connective panel. Joining major aggregation groups is a strong endorsement of the demand for our products and the trust the broker community places in Pallas Capital. It reflects the work our team has put into building a reliable and relationship‑driven offering.

Looking ahead, what are your professional goals and aspirations within Pallas Capital? How do you see yourself contributing to the company’s future success?

Looking ahead, my focus is on empowering our sales team, expanding our origination footprint and ensuring brokers have the confidence, knowledge and tools to succeed in the private credit space. By championing collaboration and driving a strong, scalable sales culture, I hope to play a key role in accelerating our growth and reinforcing the value we bring to brokers and borrowers.
