Staff spotlight – Matthew Steffanoni

Can you tell us about yourself and your background?

I’m an Associate in the Loan Management team, primarily responsible for managing and servicing our construction loans.

I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) and Graduate Certificate in Project Management.

Prior to joining Pallas Capital, I worked as a Quantity Surveyor for global construction and property consultancy, Rider Levett Bucknall, where I was heavily involved in project finance and risk reporting. A born and bred Perth boy, I’m a mad Fremantle Dockers supporter in the AFL.

How did you come to be part of the Pallas Capital team?

I saw the job listing on LinkedIn and applied. After meeting the team and seeing their enthusiasm around my skillset and potential to add value to Pallas Capital, I couldn’t wait to get started.

What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?

A typical day will see me analysing reports from Quantity Surveyors, processing drawdown requests, attending project control group meetings, conducting internal risk reporting on our projects and doing general loan management across the Pallas Capital portfolio.

What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?

Since joining in April this year, the team at Pallas Capital has grown exponentially, with individuals coming together from many different backgrounds and with a huge variety of prior experience.

Having the ability to learn and grow every day from this vast knowledge base is highly motivating.

What are your personal goals for 2021 outside of Pallas Capital?

I’ve started running again recently. My goal is to run a half marathon by the end of the year.
