Staff spotlight: Peter Blanc, National Credit Manager

Can you tell us about yourself and your background?

I have spent the past two decades working in commercial property lending, with the majority of that time focused on the private credit sector. Over this period, I have progressed through various roles that have equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of complex lending structures, credit risk assessment and relationship management across diverse transactions.

My experience across multiple market cycles has shaped a disciplined and pragmatic approach to lending, with a consistent focus on managing risk while delivering practical, solutions‑oriented outcomes.

How did you come to be part of the Pallas Capital team?

I was introduced to Pallas Capital through long‑standing industry relationships and had been following the firm’s progress for some time. What stood out early was its reputation as a reliable, commercially disciplined lender with a strong focus on practical, solutions‑driven outcomes—an approach that closely aligned with my own.

When the opportunity arose to help establish the Brisbane office, it felt like a natural fit. It allowed me to bring my experience to a new market while contributing to building something from the ground up. Being part of that early phase and supporting the firm’s growth in Queensland made the decision an easy one.

What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?

There is no typical day, which reflects both the complexity of our transactions and the pace of the firm’s growth. My core responsibility is the oversight of credit across the national portfolio. This includes shaping credit policy, refining our lending framework, providing leadership on complex transactions and ensuring alignment between our risk appetite and broader business strategy.

What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?

A key highlight has been helping establish the Brisbane office and seeing it grow into a recognised and trusted participant in the Queensland private credit market. Building a strong local presence, developing relationships and contributing to the firm’s reputation in the region has been particularly rewarding.

More recently, stepping into the role of National Credit Manager and contributing to the strategic direction of the business has been a significant milestone. It reflects both the firm’s growth and the opportunity to influence outcomes on a national scale.

What are some of your proudest achievements or milestones during your time at Pallas Capital?

I am particularly proud of contributing to the growth and capability of the Brisbane team, as well as leading a number of complex transactions that required thoughtful structuring and close collaboration. Beyond individual deals, strengthening relationships with borrowers and capital partners, and helping to shape the processes and frameworks that support our continued scale, have been especially meaningful. Seeing the tangible impact of that work — both internally and in the market — has been very rewarding.

Looking ahead, what are your professional goals and aspirations within Pallas Capital? How do you see yourself contributing to the company’s future success?

My focus is on supporting the continued growth of Pallas Capital’s lending platform across Australia, while maintaining a disciplined and consistent approach to credit. As National Credit Manager, I am committed to ensuring our framework evolves with both market expectations and the increasing scale and complexity of the business, while preserving the flexibility required to deliver bespoke lending solutions.

More broadly, I aim to help strengthen our national presence, supporting capital growth initiatives, and developing the next generation of talent within the organisation. Maintaining a clear alignment between growth, risk, and performance will be critical to delivering sustainable, long-term success.
