Navigating Tomorrow – An Evening of Wine, Property, and Insights

On Thursday, 8 May, Pallas Capital, in collaboration with CORE Property Advisory, hosted a targeted market briefing for financial advisers, unpacking the trends shaping  Australia’s real estate and credit markets. Against a backdrop of economic uncertainty and shifting investor priorities, the event focused on the performance and resilience of commercial real estate debt — a core strategy for income-focused portfolios.

Sameer Chopra, Head of Research at CBRE, opened the afternoon with a data-rich analysis of macroeconomic indicators and structural shifts impacting both residential and commercial markets. His presentation provided critical context for advisers navigating increasingly complex investment environments.

Craig Bannister, Executive Director at Pallas Capital, explored the strategic value of commercial real estate debt, highlighting Pallas’ mid-market lending focus and disciplined approach to credit assessment. As traditional lenders pull back, Craig explained how private credit is playing a growing role in supporting development pipelines while offering stable, risk-adjusted returns for investors.

Jason Isherwood, Managing Director of CORE Property Advisory, offered a practical lens on residential property investment, sharing insights into buyer sentiment, project selection, and portfolio positioning in today’s market.

Guests enjoyed a premium wine tasting and artisan cheese pairings served throughout the presentations, rounding our an afternoon of insight, strategy and meaningful conversation.
