Can you tell us about yourself and your background?
I hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Marketing) from UNSW. I started my banking and finance career as a graduate at one of the ‘big four’, before rolling off into the real estate team within their institutional bank. I learned so much in my time there; it really laid the perfect platform for my current role at Pallas Capital.
Outside of work? You’ll probably find me at the beach, spending time with my puppy or watching NRL during the football season.
How did you come to be part of the Pallas Capital team?
After five years at a big four, working at a non-bank lender space seemed like the next great challenge for me. The recent growth in the non-bank lending sector, and Pallas Capital in particular, is something I’ve found very exciting professionally.
After my first meeting with Dan Gallen, I knew this is exactly where I wanted to be.
I couldn’t wait to get started.
What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?
I’m an Associate in the Credit Services team, so I’m responsible for overseeing risk analysis and due diligence for the origination of property transactions. It’s very important for our team to understand the key risks of transactions and find solutions to mitigate them so that we can proceed with confidence and clarity.
Given this, a typical day for me is working out what information we need, reviewing the information provided and then making recommendations for our Credit Committee.
What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?
It’s very satisfying being across the whole life cycle of a transaction, from origination right through to settlement. We also share our offices with Fortis (the property development arm of Pallas), so if I have a specific construction question, I can easily chat to one of our development managers. I’m always learning.
What are your personal goals for 2022 outside of Pallas Capital?
Having recently purchased a property, I have big plans to renovate the interiors. I’d love to be involved in the architectural process and interior design to create my dream home. Beyond that, I’m also currently training for the South Maroubra Ocean Swim in April. It’s a great event.
