Can you tell us about yourself and your background?
I am responsible for wealth distribution and strategy at Pallas Capital. Prior to joining Pallas Capital, I gained 14+ years of experience in funds management, platforms and wealth distribution with businesses such as Macquarie Bank, Ironbark Asset Management and Evans and Partners.
I’m also a passionate entrepreneur, having founded and operationalised a fintech start-up called Stropro Technologies, as well as the ed-tech start-up, Nexgen Codecamp.
How did you come to be part of the Pallas Capital team?
Having worked in small, medium and large organisations, I felt I can bring the best value from my past experiences to Pallas Capital. Having spoken with Pallas Capital several times prior to joining, their journey thus far has been very exciting and successful, driven by patience and focused on quality investment options and product offerings.
It is certainly the right time to tackle and move into another segment of the market – the Advised segment which is the exciting prospect for myself and the business.
What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?
A typical day is speaking to clients about current market trends, portfolio construction and why we, as Investment Managers, specifically invest in the areas we believe provide the best opportunity for positive investor returns.
In my experience, providing more transparency on the underlying exposures in our portfolio – and why these investments have been chosen – provides real confidence to clients around our philosophy and purpose.
What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?
I don’t necessarily believe in highlights.
I believe in consistency.
That said, when I first walked through the doors of Pallas Capital, the first thing I was told is that the business is like one big family, rather than a workplace. This has certainly been my experience.
What are your personal goals for 2022 outside of Pallas Capital?
I have several philosophies that really guide me in life:
- Work for a passion, not for a pay check;
- Spend more time with family and those who matter;
- Continue to teach younger people, as well as the underprivileged, about technology skills for the betterment of our society and future generations; and
- Stay fit and healthy and have the occasional drink (or three).
