Staff spotlight: Tim Capps, Associate Director – Origination

Can you tell us about yourself and your background?

My career started more than 15 years ago in consumer lending, which sparked my interest in the broader banking industry. This led me to a role at a big four bank where I specialised in commercial real estate and development funding. I spent over a decade here, working across various transactions and building strong relationships with developers and investors. This set the foundation for my role at Pallas Capital, which I commenced in early 2026.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, coaching my kids’ sporting teams and continuing my karate journey as I work towards a black belt.

How did you come to be part of the Pallas Capital team?

I had been watching the growth of the non-bank lending sector for some time and saw a real opportunity in the South Australian market. When Pallas Capital established an Adelaide office, I jumped at the chance to join the team. The opportunity to be part of a growing business and help build the firm’s presence locally was something I was excited to be involved in.

What does a typical workday look like for you at Pallas Capital?

Most of us say this, but no two days are the same – which is one of the things I enjoy most about the role. My time is typically split between reviewing new opportunities, assessing project feasibilities and working with our internal teams to structure transactions. Relationship management is also a big part of the role, whether that’s meeting with brokers and borrowers, attending industry events or building new connections across the market.

What has been your highlight at Pallas Capital so far?

Attending our recent Pallas Capital Origination Conference would have to be a highlight. With the national Origination team growing significantly over the past year, it was a great opportunity to meet colleagues from across the country, share ideas and spend time together outside of the day-to-day environment. The depth of experience across the team is impressive, but what stands out most is everyone’s willingness to support one another. It’s an exciting team to be part of.

What are some of your proudest achievements or milestones during your time at Pallas Capital?

I’m most proud of the number of transactions I’ve been able to support through approval and settlement in a relatively short period of time. Moving from a major bank into private credit required a different way of thinking, but it’s been a rewarding transition. The support from the team around me has been invaluable and has helped me build strong relationships with brokers and borrowers across the market.

Looking ahead, what are your professional goals and aspirations within Pallas Capital? How do you see yourself contributing to the company’s future success?

I’m looking forward to continuing to grow my network and helping expand Pallas Capital’s presence in South Australia. We have an experienced team on the ground in Adelaide and a strong platform for growth. I’m excited by the opportunity to support more brokers and borrowers across the state and continue building long-term relationships throughout the property industry.
